NEET UG 2025: City Intimation Slips Released, Exam Set for May 4

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the city intimation slips for the NEET UG 2025 examination, a crucial step in the run-up to India’s largest medical entrance test. Candidates can now access their allotted exam cities through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, helping them plan travel and accommodation ahead of the examination scheduled for May 4, 2025. The slips, issued on April 23, do not include specific exam centers, which will be disclosed in the admit cards expected to be released by May 1.

This year’s NEET UG will return to the pre-COVID format, with a single offline session conducted across centers in India and selected international locations. The move to the traditional pattern aims to streamline the examination process and reduce the complexities seen during the pandemic years when staggered shifts and additional precautions were necessary. Over 20 lakh aspirants are expected to appear for the exam, competing for limited seats in medical and dental colleges nationwide.

Amid logistical updates, the NEET PG 2025 examination format is also under discussion. The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has urged the Union Education Minister to retain a single-shift exam format, voicing concerns over fairness and challenges in normalizing scores across multiple shifts. The debate highlights ongoing efforts to balance accessibility with standardization in India’s competitive medical entrance ecosystem.

Unfortunately, the stress surrounding NEET preparation continues to take a toll on students' mental health. In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old aspirant was found dead in Kota, Rajasthan—marking the twelfth such case in the city this year. The recurring reports of student suicides have reignited urgent calls for mental health support, counseling resources, and reforms in how entrance exam preparation is approached in high-pressure environments like Kota.

With the exam just weeks away, candidates are advised to stay informed through official sources and avoid rumors. As anticipation builds, experts are also encouraging students to balance rigorous study with self-care, emphasizing that health and well-being are just as vital as academic success. The NEET UG 2025 is not just a test of knowledge but also resilience, making support systems more crucial than ever.
